Add a classic yet sweet detail to your wardrobe with this large 100% organic cotton scarf hand-dyed with vegetal dyeing.

This accessory can be used as a scarf, but also as an improvised garment, blanket or small tablecloth. My daughter would add that it is a perfect blanket to make an improvised house :)

  • Color: See photos. Depending on the lighting the color may look more or less peachy and dark, but it's somewhere between old pink, soft peach and smoky salmon pink!

The fabric is prepared before being dyed to get the best possible hold. After dyeing, it is set aside for two weeks to allow the dye to soak into the fabric, then washed - and even rewashed to limit possible initial color changes - with a neutral soap and ironed or steamed. It is then carefully wrapped. It will be ready to wear when you receive it.

About the process

The hand-dyeing process is an ancient, artisanal technique where fabric fibers interact with nature's pigments to create their magic. Variations in color may be present with this dyeing process, but I take care to note the more important specifics in the descriptions when this is the case. Each item is unique and perfectly imperfect and these particularities are the charm of this type of coloring.

Customization
It is possible to check the variant With personalization to transform its plain scarf into a unique scarf with color effects - impressions of flower petals, traces of pigments in confetti, effect realized by various vegetal dyeing processes.

The result varies according to the base color, the inspiration, the season, my intuition, the available plants. If you have a crush on a particular style or effect, you can drop me a line afterwards, I will take it into consideration. However, you are buying a surprise, so you have to be comfortable with that aspect!

Care
Color can also change over time. Your scarf is nature and designed to be able to go back once at the end of its life, so it's only natural that it will change with you over time. However, proper care will allow you to keep it for many years. It is therefore recommended to hand wash it only when needed, with cold water and a neutral pH soap, then hang it up to dry out of the sun. If needed, you can use a hot iron or a steam iron to smooth it out.

Packaging and shipping: From the beginning of the process until the dispatch of your purchase, I take care of your order. I pack everything personally making sure you receive your purchase as I would like to receive mine.

Delivery: Usually orders are sent in two or three days unless it is a pre-order. If it is possible to combine different orders in a single shipment, we will refund the overpayment. Unless otherwise specified, orders are sent by Canada Post with tracking number and a minimum insurance of $100 which can be adjusted according to the value of the purchase.

Refund: Since each item is unique and I am a small business, there is no exchange or refund possible unless the product is defective. If however a problem arises with your order, contact me within 14 days from the date of purchase and I will do my best to find a solution with you. Customer service and your satisfaction are my priority.

Care

  • Wash only when necessary.
  • Naturally dyed garments can be washed in the washing machine and tumble dried, except for silks and fringed scarves which are often best hand washed and hung to dry. However, like any other garment, hand washing and air drying will prolong its life.
  • Wash in cold water with neutral pH soap. Do not use bleach.
  • If desired, it is possible to iron the silk at a low temperature to give it a new look.
