This habotai silk scarf with floral print is the most classic and versatile accessory there is. It certainly brings a touch of elegance to an outfit, but I invite you not to reserve its use for special moments. This scarf is hand dyed in my workshop with plants. This process makes it a 100% natural accessory that can even return to the earth at the end of its life since naturally dyed silk is completely biodegradable.

What is habotai silk

Habotai silk is lighter and more transparent than charmeuse silk, which means that it falls with a little less hold but a lot of suppleness. She has a little something very romantic about her.

How to use your silk scarf?

Often used around the neck as a scarf, it can also take the form of a hair accessory or improvised clothing depending on its size. Silk sashes make wonderful altar cloths for those who want to create a sacred space to deposit precious objects or can be used as wall decorations when not in use.

Color stability

Vegetable dyes are vibrant and some colors may soften or lighten over time. However, I take care to prepare the fabrics so that the color is as durable as possible and, unless otherwise indicated, the pigments chosen are those with good stability over time. With the right care, your piece can have a long life! It is recommended not to let your scarf dry in the sun, to wash it only when necessary and to use a neutral pH soap.

A unique and perfectly imperfect piece

The vegetable dyeing process makes it possible to create unique pieces. Due to its nature, it is possible to find subtle marks or stains on its piece from flowers, leaves, roots and the like. These marks contribute to the unique character of the piece and correspond to this idea of the “perfectly imperfect”.

Eco-responsibility

The dye baths are made from elements picked in Bas-Saint-Laurent with my mini, flowers saved from the compost following an event or pigments purchased from retailers growing their plants or sourcing ethically. I try to develop a work process that is as responsible and sustainable as possible, both in terms of choosing suppliers, making and packaging.

My products are entirely made of natural fibers - with the exception of what is upcycled - and can be returned to the earth at the end of their useful life. Let's try to create and consume without creating more waste!
