ARTIST STATEMENT

My work questions mainly the representation of the emotion: in which way the composition of a work can contribute to the deployment of its sensitive character and affect the human sensibility, the receptivity in the spectator? How can the texture and composition be charged with emotions and communicate the restlessness of human experience? These questions inspire me to explore the poetic of space and to elaborate on the ability to convey, through colors, textures and compositions, that inner state of the self that is preoccupied or melancholic.
My interest in the narrative potential of objects - an item, a place, a posture - is the second focus of my practice. I am currently working to integrate these themes more thoroughly into my work, developing a narrative of the intimate through the abstract or figurative representation of domestic spaces.
